How to set and track a reading goal

Choose how many books to read this year, track your pace and see what counts toward your goal.

1. Choose a goal that fits your year

On your first visit, Home asks how many books you want to read this year, with shortcuts for 3, 6, 12 or 24. If you're unsure, start with last year's count and add one or two. You can change it in the goal card or Settings without losing anything.

2. Know what counts

  • Every book or comic finished this year counts, as long as it has a finish date.
  • Readings without a finish date count toward your total, but not your yearly goal. If you don't remember the day, choose at least the month.

3. Track your pace

The goal card shows what's left and whether you're ahead of or behind your pace, calculated from your goal and the months elapsed. Being behind in March isn't a problem: it's just information for planning your next reads.

4. Log with little effort

  • Finished? On Home, tap "I've finished" in the Currently reading card. Today's date is filled in automatically.
  • Finished several at once? On your shelf, use Select and change all their statuses to Read.
  • Want to see your real pace? Log reading sessions in Diary: pages and time each day.

5. End the year with your review

In December, Year in review shows your whole year: readings, pages, average rating and highlights, with a share card. See the guide to your reading year in review.
